RMBL is currently researching rock snot and works with the USDA forest service, volunteers, the Crested Butte Land Trust, the Town of Crested Butte, and private citizens and representatives from the Bureau of Land Management to control noxious weeds on the RMBL property. RMBL holds a volunteer day every year to get people involved in managing and controlling noxious weeds. Annual monitoring is conducted for invasive plants on the RMBL property, occurring for the last four years. Monitoring data is available to the public upon request. Mapping using GPS is also conducted to track densities of weeds and native plants and are available upon request. Unfortunately, when the RMBL website went down earlier in 2014, many research databases were lost.

The Crested Butte Land Trust manages open space properties in the Gunnison Valley under conservation easements, and must monitor and manage noxious weeds under the legal requirements of such easements. Currently the CBLT does not do any specific research on invasives in the Gunnison Valley, however they monitor their properties for all invasives listed on the CSU Extension Website and listed under the Colorado Noxious Weed Act. For more information visit www.cblandtrust.org.
